After high school, Garcia attended Texas Christain University for a few years, and was then transferred to University of Texas. She was exposed to more competition at the University that made her capabilities more pronounced over the course of time. Angela Akin Garcia, despite the fact she found happiness and satisfaction playing professional golfer, has never dreamed about pursuing a career in the field. In the end, she pursued journalistic studies. Following her graduation in journalism, she was hired with Fox Sports Southwest as a journalist.
